Cardboard textured mono prints

Following the traumatic experiences and images of the February earthquake our students wrote about them, and the rebuilding of Christchurch. They have also created cardboard mono prints depicting an image that was meaningful to them, or one that showed recovery. Plants were depicted as part of that recovery. Please enjoy some of our prints. Next term will see the publication of our work in book form.

This week the students have created some stunning prints from their wood cuts. Their results are worth seeing as they have  mastered overprinting techniques with very few cut fingers acquired along the way. Parents, please ask your children for a sample.

Woodcut prints

This week is a busy and creative one in the senior block. We have photographed our imagine a day card block prints, and our writing in preparation for a book we will create.

We are cutting our wood cut blocks on Tuesday and begin printing on Friday.
We would love to have some parent helpers on Friday.

Some students have taken a woodblock home today so they can make another one or two so we can all be cutting at the same time. Thanks to any parents who were able to assist.

Hand held hair dryers are a great help with drying our prints - do you have one at home that you could lend us, or even donate to our art department?

Thanks
Annabel
