Foam Pad Environment Prints from Rooms 9 and 10
We have zoomed in on a plant to include some texture and detail. After reading the book Lester and Clyde by James Reece, we thought about our impact on the School environment. We then chose to draw either something that belonged (eg. a spider web) or something that didn’t, such as a can. After indenting our drawings onto a foam pad we experimented with the printing ink. Using the brayers we varied the quantity of ink used as well as the colours. Our final challenge was to publish four of our prints. We had to consider which mounting paper, and what layout best displayed our work.
At the moment we are preparing a cardboard and textured material block relating to images from the earthquake or how we see the new Christchurch. Together with our written work, Imagine . . . we will be making a booklet to give to Schools in Christchurch.
